I am usually a 30 waste eapecially when im about to compete, a 32 is usually a little saggy in jeans but can be done with a belt. Will these be uncomfortable and bunched if i get the 32 since the 30 is unavailable? Figured with a drawstring it would be ok, but dont want my shorts falling off in a scramble.

Yup. I wear a cup and I have been wearing these shorts 2x a week for 2 months :) No weirdness in the crotchial maximus region.
I'm 5"6 and 145 pounds. Usualy between 28-30 on jeans and an A1 on most gi's. Are these actualy true to size or a little tight? Which dize do you suggest?
If you can wear 28" jeans, get 28" shorts.
For any women who have the previous versions...any advice on sizing? I'm a women's 10 which normally converts to about a men's 32, but I'm curious if these will fit a woman's waist-to-hip ratio properly. I have enough problems on the mats without wardrobe malfunctions....
I got these in the old colors and they didn't fit well at all. I'm size 6 and can normally fit perfect into men's 28 fight shorts, but these just fit really odd on a woman's body - probably due to the waist-to-hip ratio thing. The elastic in the back was really uncomfortable and tight too. Only 93 brand item I ever got that I didn't like. If you decide to try it, I'd suggest sizing up.
Are the black ones IBJJF approved ?
They should be fine since there are no real accent colors (there are plenty of other brands with black/grey IBJJF shorts). I would check with them first though before saying 100%.
I am 5-4 and 115.. 25 in jeans.. are they the same fit as the green 93 brand? BC they were too big on me in the smallest size.
Yes, same cut as previous standard issue shorts. Not sure which size you got, but previous batch may have started at 28" though, these now have 26".

Normally I can wear a 38"pant, 5-10" 225. Can I squeeze into a 36 or should I go 40? I'm afraid 40 is gonna be too big and 36 might be too small. How do they fit,do they run baggy or loose?

I'd go 30", ideally. 32" will be a little roomy in the waist but doable since there is a drawstring. Depends on how you like your shorts to fit.
I have bought 30" shorts on this sight that were too small and 32 " that were too big. I would like these but sizing is always tough for me

The updated version just dropped today so nobody has them but us yet, but they are the same construction as previous (aside from aesthetic/branding changes) 93brand SI shorts but one feature: veclro closure now has a stronger stitching line.
I have the 93 Gotham shorts (might not be the exact same build) - the design and build quality is outstanding. They fit very well and move as you move. Just bought these and have no doubt that 93 will deliver the same quality. I'm 6' and 230lbs and found that the 36 fit me extremely well, no pinching or bunching.
I was wondering if I can get one 1 size and the other a different one?? Ones for a friend?? Thx

Any details on the height and weight of the model and what size he is wearing? Just want to make sure I get the right size as I'm pretty much in between a 28 and 30 thanks heaps

Model is 5'6" 150 lbs wearing a size 30" (though he could likely rock the 28").
