Check out the newest edition of Tatami's popular Nova Gi, available for the first time in navy blue! They've kept the design classy and not too flashy, a great kimono for all levels. The jacket is still made from the reliable and lightweight High Tech Weave (425 GSM), which is soft and comfortable without feeling weak or stretchy when your opponent gets their grips. The pants are a breathable 9 oz. poly/cotton with a strong rope drawstring.

Like many Tatami Gis, the Nova has a rubberized collar, triple-stitched stress points, and double-layer knee reinforcements. The improved collar style allows faster drying and keeps the natural shape of the Gi jacket preserved. Both the jacket and pants have plenty of room for team, sponsor, or association patches.

93brand C-SPEC "Blackout" Jiu Jitsu Gi - $80

93brand's "C-SPEC" range just relaunched, introducing a few modifications to the typical BJJ Gi. The intention is to improve the traditional kimono design, in the areas where Jiu Jitsu has evolved but the uniform has not. The main materials are Pearl Weave (550 GSM) for the top, and a new Drill Cotton (10oz) for the pants.

JACKET: The jacket fabric is a type of pearl weave, but they've cinched up the fabric's "pearl" bumps. As you can see in the close-ups, this means each "pearl" is slightly more raised, has slightly more breathing room around it, and appears not only tighter but also longer/narrower than your typical pearl weave look. This, and the 300 GSM weight, not only keep the jacket feeling breathable and light, but also adds a unique texture to the exterior (to the touch and to the appearance).

PANTS: Cursive LITE boasts another impressive textile. . . This pant/collar fabric is new to us. And we like. Kitsune took the checkered reinforcement technique from conventional ripstop, but wove it at an angle. And then called in some diamond-shaped reinforcements for back-up. And again a nice and subtle texture change to liven up the typical Gi look :)
