I got the A1L too, I'm at 5'10 150 so i was debating between that a1l and the a2, hopefully i made the right choice.
Recommendations for 5'10 and 210 lbs? I was thinking an a2H, but I don't want it to be huge.

Yes it is, I have this Gi already and wore mine to IBJJF Chicago. Doesn't violate any rules, don't know why you think it wouldn't be legal.
Normally I wear an A1 but lately I've been finding them too large in the shoulders, but they still fit in length... should I go down to an A1 for this? even though I'm above the weight range for that size...

Does this come with the large back patch like in the 2nd to last pic or with no patch like the 4th pic?
It comes with the patch but not included. You can sew it on in that spot or anywhere else.

i'm 6 foot 220 with board shoulders and a 43 inch chest and a a3 fits me great. hope this helps you out.

For you either will work, depends on how you like your fit. A2 will have a shorter skirt and pants than the A2L on you.

What the? Ok I'll ask again since I don't see my comment. 5'11" and about 235. A2H? My other gi is an A4. Kind of nervous on the sizing.
Server is slammed so comments taking a bit to show up. You're at the top end of A2H, but wash cold and hang dry and the A2H will work for you nicely.

There is an A2, then A2L then A2H. If it's not clear on the front page on your phone, if you add to your cart it should be easier to see.
