I've been wanting the Tatami gorilla Gi for a few months but I didn't want to pay almost 200 for it. This is a deal, hopefully it doesn't smell like mothballs like the last Gi I ordered.

You can always wash it in cold water & once the washer is up to rinse mode throw in some liquid fabric softener should take care of any smell. Then hang dry the gi to avoid shrinking.

One of my favorite gi's. Super comfortable, durable as all hell, and not to mention cool! Would recommend to anyone, but especially anyone who is a fan of the European cut of kimonos. Fits my lanky limbs and bird chest quite perfectly

I'm 5 ft 2 in and about 155 pounds. Is the F3 a fairly loose fit so it could work at this weight as well?

F3 should fit 155 lbs fine as long as you cold wash and hang dry.

Really nice Gi. I've had mine for almost a year. Holds up well. This gi is VERY PRONE TO SHRINKING. do not machine dry. Minor cosmetic flaws over the months but overall it's a great gi

A1L should be fine if you stick with cold wash / hang dry. If you use warm/hot wash and machine dry, then A2L :)

Buying for a friend that is 58 kilos and 5'6", what size do you recommend? A0 or A1? Thanks in advance!

He/She is right on the border. . . She could do A0 (advised to cold wash / hang dry) for a more fitted look, or an A1 for a more relaxed fit (and A1 you could wash warm and machine dry).

Tatami's "A2XL" is essentially an A3L. At 6'4" 190 you should fit right into an A2XL!

Check out the sizing chart to see where your height/weight place you. Fuji and Tatami are both on the smaller side of the spectrum (compared to, say, Manto and 93 Brand), though Tatami might run a tiny bit bigger than Fuji.

why does this question keeps coming up? Is it IBJJF approved? If you are so serious towards IBJJF competition, then you should already know, or stay up to date on what is approved and what is not. There is a rule book, read it!

No, this is not IBJJF approved (they do not allow full-length interior jacket liner).

I think the colored crotch portion is also an IBJJF violation.

I believe so, Scott. Only problem is IBJJF is inconsistent with enforcing that one, for example they've let my friends compete in early edition Hyperflys, which had colored gussets.
