Hyperlyte Jiu Jitsu Gi - Black/Mint

The brand new Black/Mint edition Hyperlyte!

We've seen plenty of lightweight Pearl Weaves, but the HyperLyte's 350 GSM is on another level, consisting of a very tightly woven and low weight cotton weave.

So I've been eying the Hyperlytes for a while now, and I have a few questions:
    (1) What's the shrinkage like on the Hyperlytes? Do they shrink a lot with cold wash hang dry?
    (2) I have a Hyperfly ProComp in A1, but the pants are really tight and I just don't wear the gi that much anymore in fear of ripping the pants haha. Is the Hyperlyte a tailored fit as well, or is it roomier?
    (3) I'm 5'4" 169lbs with thick thighs. Do you think an A1 would fit, or should I size up to an A2 or A2S?
    (4) Is the A2S for shorter and skinnier people or for shorter and chubbier people?
    Any input is welcome!

    1. They shrink, but if you cold wash hang dry, it shouldn't be too bad. They stretch back out a bit after you start rolling.

    2. The ProComp is supposedly a more fitted gi, so the regular HyperLyte shouldn't be quite as fitted. However, I do not own a ProComp for comparison.

    3. Go with the A2 or A2S for sure (I'd lean towards A2 because it's easier to shrink).

    4. I'm not sure. Sorry.

I have the hyperlite do or die Gi and I love it! So light and comfy to roll it. I am 5'7, and 180lb, I got the A2 and it is a teensy but big but I'm glad I didn't go the smaller size. I have experienced no shrinkage, I wash in cold water and always dry on the line in the sun and fresh air. I'd definitely buy this black and mint one if I had a second job to support my jiu Jitsu habit!

I am 5'7" and 160 pounds. I buy A2 because I am bottom heavy. The tops are always a little large on me, but I prefer to move easier.

I'm 6'4" and 305#. Similar build to you. Most A5 gis are still a little snug on me. I'm wearing an A6 in all of my gis right now. Hope this helps.

The Hyperlites are awesome. Both my wife and I purchased them here at BJJHQ. My wife picked hers up after some great customer service when her newly purchased 93Brand had a manufacturing defect. BJJHQ not only reimbursed us for the product but also covered our return postage from Canada. Thanks!

Anyone know the difference between hyperlyte and hyperfly gis? I have the California edition hyperfly and it shrank a good amount for what it's worth.

Different weave, same fit but heaps lighter. Easier for opponents to grip though and has a bit of flex in it when it get wet from sweaty rolls. Ridiculously comfy though, love mine!!

I accidentally placed 3 orders instead of 1 (clumsy fingers). I emailed customer service. Anything else I should do?

    5'6" and 185.
    A1 or A2S?

    A1 in 93 fits well.
    A2 in FUJI fits well.

I'd say if you like them a little roomy then get the a2, if not then get the a2s

A2. They shrink a bit. If you're planning on losing weight soon, go with the A2S and wash cold and hang dry until you do. I was the exact same height and weight, and A2 fit me perfectly.
