Ripstop gis usually do not shrink much (if at all). None of mine have at all, even when I wanted them to, even when washed hot and put in the dryer.

I bought this gi from Gr1ps and just started wearing it. It is, by far, the lightest gi and most comfortable. I'm 5'8 175 to 185 and got the A2. It fits great. I washed it once, the it in the dryer, tried it on until it was just a little bit big then let it hang dry the rest of the way. No problems since. I love it.

It shrank about an inch. It isn't IBJJF legal but, it's great to train in the summer.

Is this similar in material and construction to the Kauai Kimonos or something different?

FYI I do not believe this Gi is IBJJF approved. The material is too light. It’s super light and thin. Almost like a Taekwondo Gi (remember those?!?) 😋 but great for summer training or light travel.
