I am not sure what you are doing to the GI but mine feels soft. I've had a Dark Skies version of Kitsune GI since it came out. The sizing was a bit long but nothing a dryer and a few cycles couldn't fix.

As for the drawstring knots, I had the same experience the first wash. I re-tightened the knots and they have yet to come undone after at least 30 washes.

11/10 one of my favorite GIs along with UpsideDown Pandas and Rolling since 93 brands.
