Want to caution everyone about Phalanx shorts. I went on a buying spree a while back for multiple items from this brand because I love their rashguard so much (which I still do). However the shorts are lower quality. I have a bunch of them from my buying spree (multiple matching sets of shorts rashies and spats). Everything is premium except the shorts. They feel lower in quality and most of them have ripped after just a few uses so I doubt it's coincidental or a fluke. They would have small holes in them. I used 93 brand and Tatami shorts for years under the same level of care and they never ripped but my phalanx shorts all began ripping after just a few use. Just my experience.

I will echo other reviewers. The inside portion will certainly won't fit the average size human being. It's way too small. I gave it a shot and it didn't fit me. I bought 34 even though I am 32 and it didn't fit me. I weigh 195lb. I gave it to my 125lb cousin who this fit perfectly on him.

phalanx rashguard and spats are premium quality but their shorts feel cheap and they came with stitch strings falling out everywhere out of the bag - i have a lot of phalanx gear

Also is this IBJJF legal/approved? sometimes I see this darker navy as legal and then sometime I see the brighter blue one as legal, so I'm a bit confused. Perhaps, they're both legal?
