ROLLING DOOOOOONGS
Welcome to Rolling Deals! For the uninitiated: This is a special event that differs from our usual Daily Deal offers. We've compiled of 109 different Jiu Jitsu items and for the next 48 hours we'll be cycling thru that list in 8-min increments. THE RULES IN PLACE: - Each product gets its own 8-minute timer - If any item sells out before its timer ends, we move to the next product automatically - Once we get thru the full list, we start back at the top - 109 different products - Heavy-duty markdowns - Flat rate $5 shipping on all USA orders - International shipping available on select items - Cycle continues on repeat until 11pm EST on Sunday Check our IG/FB @bjjhq for a peek at the full 109-product list!
Hi! Any idea when you're going to fix the timer display? It is not urgent but I want to be sure it doesn't get missed.
@dongs - you mean the 1-digit display? or are you seeing an inaccurate timer somewhere? If so, desktop or mobile or app?
It should read 00:07:04 not 0:7:4. This is just a change to something like "d:d:02d" in a format string call someplace.
yo I just tried to buy those blue Perry camo shorts it came off my card right as the timer went off for the next item money came off my card but it said error on the bjj hq screen went to check my orders on here and it wasn't there can someone make sure I'm gonna get the shorts
@buddha -- it's possible that your bank put a pending authorization "hold" on the funds (like the $1 pending hold a gas station puts when you first swipe your card) which would generally disappear from the Pending field on your bank statement if the charge isn’t post-authorized (as would be the case in this potential scenario). But there's also a chance that your email info just didn't sync up if your browser was being funky or some other such connection anomaly (meaning no emailed Order Confirmation that we typically send out immediately). Can you email us from the address that you would have entered during checkout? Plz include your full first and last name and will dig into it manually
Also "%02d" shouldn't make it through to the rendered page as a raw ASCII 0x02. You should tell your devs to sanitize your inputs.
@BJJHQ I promise I'm not trying to be annoying. When I'm not posting the word "dongs" on your website I do computer stuff like this. There are lots of little signs that there might be a bigger problem with how your app handles data.
Unpopular opinion: you could pay some nerd like dongs a gi and 10 soaps to fix all your shit.

-$45 shipping in a $60 gi. 🙄
what do you want them to do about shipping cost buddy?it's not their fault
We've been paying over $45 to ship gis for years. we actually lose money on the shipping rate, in net. Once you factor in lost shipments (far less recourse available compared to standard domestic shipping insurance), sending anything over 1 lbs outside North America is utterly not worthwhile financially. Even to Canada is a gamble. Hence some heavier items being disabled for international shipping. especially when we're already not turning a profit on the Gi (like the $60 gi in question).
I know at first glance $45 to ship a $60 item means shipping is 75% of the total product cost, but the carriers don’t care what the items price is. They see it for its tangible reality: $45 to ship a 5 lbs package internationally. Now… on the other hand, we *could* change the price to $120, bringing the shipping rate to only constitute ~37% rather than 75%, but I don’t think that helps!
