You shouldn't be in the middle on this. I've got the large and am 5'11 and 185, It runs long through the torso and the fit is snug but not exactly stifling with the compression fit. I'd think Medium would be the right size given your height/weight.

they are fairly true to size but tend to be short in the torso.

I have this rash guard only in green and I would say it is a little shorter than most but not by very much. It doesn't really say it in the description but this rash guard has a band at the bottom that really hugs at the bottom (I know a lot of rash guards do but this one seems to really be snug). I believe that is how it gets away with being a hair shorter, because it won't really ride up. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm bashing the product because I really enjoy this rash guard it's just a little different from the other rash guards I have.

How is the material in comparison to say a regular underarmor or nike combat compression shirt? (which are a bit cheaper)

Much, much thicker than those you've mentioned. Also it runs a bit small, and because of the thickness it does not stretch much at all. I would recommend buying one size bigger. I normally wear L, 5'10" pushing 180lbs and this was very small on me, had to return it. Great rash guard though, built like a fortress.

Hi! I just purchased the rashguard using my BJJHQ account, but I have an address outside the US. Was I suppose to checkout using paypal? Can I repurchase the item and use paypal instead? I don't want it to be charged twice! >.<
