I have this Gi. Coming from a stocky (5'6 1/2) light to feather weight former wrestler this gi has felt great for me. I train at least once a week in it and use it as my main competition gi. I had the zero G which worked great but the subzero is my gi of choice right now. GREAT DEAL i paid more
What size did you order, A1 or A2? I have a similar build, and I'm always stuck between sizes.
Tatami size/cut question: Is the Sub-Zero cut like the Nova or the Estillo? (I am an a4 nova but a5 estillo)

The Fuji Victory was on here less than a month ago for around 70-80 bucks. Doubt we see it again til the end of the year.

We had it in white recently, so that wont be back for a while. We should have it in blue or black in the next month or two.
I always wear an A2 but this one is Huge , just ordered an A1 , now I can stop trying to shrink my last one . Anyone else have this problem ?
Can anyone comment on how easy this gi is to grip? A lot lightweight gi's are impossible to break grips in because they are so soft and easy to grab, often regardless of technique. I prefer something harder on the hands but am open to purchasing if it is comparable to a normal gi.
Correct me if i am wrong.. but based on this description this gi is not preferred for day 2 day use.. rather it is a ideal to stash as a competition gi? which gi WOULD be the BEST for constant usage? as oppose to this one which is better for rare usage? want to buy my first gi but having sooo much trouble finding which is the best one!!!
for a first gi id go a fuji victory cheap and reliable the "all around" gi
This Gi is ideally better suited to competition since it's really light and only a 350 gsm weave. It will hold up in day to day training but you can't always be certain. A Fuji single weave should make a good starter gi. Have a nice day!
flow , inverted , venum , keiko make good ones i use fuji air and keiko summer on daily bases but i got 4 gis and i recommend you to owen at least 2 if you train more then 4 days week ... that way you prevent your self and your teammates from germs
I've had this gi since the last time BJJHQ offered it (about six months?). It's my second gi, and I love it. I've worn it at least weekly ever since, and, aside from some stains here and there, it has held up perfectly. My only concern would be that if this is what you get used to, every other gi is gonna feel like a lead weight. In comparison, my keiko raca gi (which i had no complaints about before) now feels like it's made out chain-mail lined with sand paper. Still, I recommend the hell out of this.
I wouldn't expect a competition gi to last more than maybe a year of 3-6 hours a week of training. I have a tatami nova that I've been using fairly often for the past few months and it's holding up very well. But I'm not sure how the nova compares to this one other than being cheaper.
And another vote for the Fuji victory. I have one and it's built like a tank while still being fairly light. Great gi for beating up at the mats.

I agree that the Fuji Victory gi is the way to go for the day to day usage. I've had mines for 3 years and I usually roll with heavier guys. It takes a good beating and would have ripped if it was a lighter/competitor gi. Plus, training with a heavier gi and switching to a lighter gi during competition will make you feel more maneuverable. Hope this helps..
