What makes these better than using normal body soap?
Proven to reduce ringworm based in clinical studies done by armbar soap themselves. Haven't had any ringworm since I started using it.
Absolutely nothing, if you clean yourself properly within a short time period after training (or any other physical activity) you will be just fine with any normal antibacterial soap from the grocery store.
Absolutely nothing? What happens if you cant clean yourself in a short period of time after training? Those normal soaps don't do the job like this one does :)
Agreed - if you like the scents, go for it. As to any clinical benefit, believe it when the study is done by an impartial party. "Studies" done by the sponsoring company border on worthless.
Not sure why my prior comment was logged in 'anonymous'. Regardless, I was agreeing with Ksh18. I have a very hard time believing that if you clean yourself quickly with any soap that it won't do just as well. Until this is actually proven in a non-biased double-blinded randomized clinical trial, it's regular bar soap for me.
Short period is within 3 hours. Armbar soap even says it makes no difference past three hours. If you're going to catch stuff, you're going to catch it.
@ Jamie I have never had Ringworm in my life and I have not used this in my life either. Maybe you actually using soap to clean yourself after training regardless of the brand is the reason behind you not getting Ringworm..
Timmy. Do yourself a favor and at least treat yourself this once. The premium ingredients they use in these soaps make your alin literally squeak clean after you are done. none of the fragrances are strong and overpowering, but mild and soothing. A 5 pack will last you about a month. Even my wife likes using it and she doesn't even train because of how refreshed her skin feels after using it. This is why I think it is better than regular soap. Also my health food store sells generic tea tree soap really cheap but it has no packaging and you buy it right off the shelf where everyone gets their grubby hands on i . To me that is not appealing. These soaps come in minimally branded tasteful packaging g. You will appear to be a grappling gentleman who knows his stuff... Stay thirsty my friends!

I only buy from BJJHQ for 3 specific things. Arm-bar soap, score! Scramble and 93 Brand gear. I love this soap!
I know this is for the body, but any suggestions on What kind of soap gets the smell out of a Gi??
If your Gi smells, then there's probably bacteria in them. I soaked mine in water with vinegar overnight and that took care of the smell. Make sure you wash them immediately after use or at least don't place them in a plastic bag after yoh use them.
I have been using defense soap, which is a pretty widely used anti-fungal soap. I'm sure this works just as well though
It seems that everyone who tries this soap always raves about it so I'm compelled to give it s try myself....I guess 2 batches will constitute a "try"
I love this soap and always have a supply on hand. If you're trying it for the first time, the base smell is a little funky (like a tea tree essential oil but not overpowering), keep using it and it really grows on you. The peppermint is my personal favorite, I washed my face like 18 times just to keep smelling it. I find that it doesn't dry the skin out, and the bars have some neat abrasion ingredients like activated charcoal to exfoliate. I've been using it for about 6 months and only got one super small ringworm recently (was going around), and it was probably my fault for hanging out on the mat to chat after rolling. Definitely recommend.

Bought it, been waiting for this deal! Just remember, no matter how good the soap if you don't wash soon after rolling you are at much greater risk of catching ringworm or worse. Also, always wash your gi ond grappling clothes asap and put in 2 cups of white vinegar to keep it smelling clean and to remove old smells. If you have some really funky set in smells, soak the offending garments in water and 5 cups vinegar for 24 hours
